MOTOR LEGAL PROTECTION - Policy Summary
INTRODUCTION
This document contains a summary of the main policy terms and conditions. The full terms can be found in the policy document which can be obtained on request, or will be given to you when you arrange cover.
WHY DO I NEED MOTORPLUS?
If you were unfortunate enough to be involved in a motor accident that wasn’t your fault you would probably expect your insurance to cover all your out-of-pocket expenses. However, this is rarely the case. Neither third party nor fully comprehensive cover offers protection against potentially substantial financial losses, even after a minor accident.
For example, you might have to pay an ‘excess’ on your policy, incur costs to repair your vehicle if you were third party insured, pay hire charges whilst your vehicle was being repaired or replaced, incur towing charges to a garage or suffer loss of earnings due to the accident.
With MotorPlus, these losses can be recovered from the party at fault.
WHAT DOES MOTORPLUS OFFER? – see section 1 of policy for full details.
As a member of MotorPlus, where there are reasonable prospects of recovery, Alpha will take the necessary steps to recover any losses on your behalf, including pursuit of damages for personal injury and if necessary, appoint legal representative to reclaim your losses through the courts without any cost to you.
Remember – full recovery of your claim should result in your no claims bonus remaining intact.
WHAT OTHER BENEFITS ARE THERE IN BEING A MOTORPLUS POLICYHOLDER?
Replacement Vehicle Service - In the event of a valid claim, Alpha will arrange the hire of an alternative vehicle, subject to availability, equivalent to your own. This service is dependent upon the accident circumstances and is at the sole discretion of Alpha.
Repair Facility - Through a network of appointed repairers, MotorPlus eliminates most of the delays and problems associated with third party insurance – including the cost of repairs. This service is subject to the accident circumstances and is at the sole discretion of Alpha.
24 Hour Helpline - As a member of MotorPlus, you have access to a telephone helpline, which is open 24 hours a day, all year round, to assist you with motor claims (regardless of cover) and any other related matter on which you require assistance.
Emergency Message Forwarding Service - In the event of an accident, there will inevitably be people that you need to contact. The MotorPlus Helpline will forward any essential, emergency messages for you.
SIGNIFICANT EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS – see section 2 of policy for full details
1. Claims made against you by an occupant of your vehicle.
2. Any claim where there is not a reasonable chance of making a recovery.
3. Any claim reported over 180 days from date of occurrence.
DURATION OF COVER
The cover under this policy starts on the commencement date shown in your policy schedule. The cover ends on the expiry date shown in your policy schedule.
REVIEWING COVER
You should review your insurance covers, including this one, annually to ensure these remain continually adequate for your needs.
YOUR RIGHTS TO CANCEL
You have a right to cancel this cover within 14 days of receiving your full policy document, where you will be entitled to a full refund of the premium paid. These rights do not apply if you make a claim during this period.
CONSEQUENCES OF CANCELLATION
If you notify us of a claim after exercise your right to cancel within the 14 day period, no refund will be made to you.

You first point of contact should be the insurance intermediary or agent through whom you arranged this cover. Details of the complaints procedure are available upon request.
HOW DO I JOIN MOTORPLUS?
To join MotorPlus and protect your rights, simply pay the motor insurance premium supplement requested by your insurance intermediary and cover will be arranged immediately
